Radial Mexican Mirrors
6th Grade studied Mexican Folk Art during Hispanic Heritage Month and created mirrors using metal embossing, or repujado.
Students used marshmallows as their subjects to practice drawing from observation and creating highlights and shadows. Yum!
Students continued their value studies by drawing soda cans from observation. They repeated their drawings 3 times, each time altering the can in some way.
Chinese NEw Year Lanterns
After learning about Chinese Landscape Painting, students created a polyptych (series of 4 paintings) using various watercolor techniques. They then assembled them with yarn to create a hanging lantern to celebrate Chinese New Year
