DIA DE LOS MUERTOS CALAVERAS
Students learned about the holiday Day of the Dead and compared and contrasted it to Halloween. They then created their own sugar skulls using various patterns and decoration. We then collaged their work and added glitter and adornments.
Fall Still life
Students studied contour lines and drew a still life. They then traced their contour lines with glue and painted their still lifes to show value.
Snowy Winter Scene
Students continued their study of value to create forms, or ornaments, using oil pastels.
Kimmy Cantrel Relief Sculpture
After studying Pablo Picasso, students learned about a contemporary artist who was inspired by Picasso's cubist portraits, Kimmy Cantrel. They created their own cubist masks that had to include at least 3 art elements in their designs.
